The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) announced the suspension of phase I of the environmental contingency on Thursday, February 27, due to the improvement in air quality in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico. This means that the Hoy No Circula program will be applied normally on Friday.
According to CAMe, the latest information indicates that tomorrow, Friday, increased humidity will enter the Valley of Mexico, and cloud cover will increase, which will favor ventilation in the region. As a result, only vehicles with blue stickers, license plate endings 9 and 0, and hologram 1 and 2 will have to stay home on Friday.
Vehicles that will be able to circulate on Friday, February 28, include electric and hybrid cars, vehicles with ecological license plates or exempt hologram type, those with hologram “00” or “0”, as well as private vehicles of healthcare workers, school transport, and personnel, funeral processions, and people with disabilities who hold the Permit to exempt the Hoy No Circula.
All public passenger and tourism service vehicles, motorcycles with a valid Tourist Pass, and cars with pink, yellow, green, and red stickers will also be able to circulate. The decision to suspend the contingency and the corresponding measures were communicated by CAMe starting at 6:00 PM on the day.
